An NDIS participant may be able to access psychological services using their NDIS funding.

Medicare rebates are available for psychological treatment by registered psychologists under the Better Access to Mental Health scheme. To receive psychological services under Medicare, a person must be referred by their GP or in some instances by a psychiatrist or a paediatrician. With a Mental Health Care Plan you are eligible for up to 10 session rebates per calendar year.

Cancellations

A minimum 48 hours notice must be given to cancel an appointment. If this does not occur a cancellation fee of 50-100% of the standard consultation fee will be charged.

Rebates are not available for cancellation fees.
